Dom Joly - Edinburgh - Queens Hall

This is not stand up comedy, This is Joly,
Dom Joly

To be honest it’s more of a book launch than a comedy show.
We set upon the Queens Hall in Edinburgh for what we assumed would be a near sell out to see this comedy legend, Yeah Legend, well he is in my eyes anyway. Trigger Happy made Beadles About look like kids TV, so simple but so affective and just so dam good.
It’s nostalgic look back at the comedy career of Dom Joly, amusing throughout but never really hitting the mark. I guess Trigger Happy wasn’t that popular in the Scottish capital as the audience numbers were disappointing to say the least, at over £20 for a show that was sold as not stand up, you can’t really blame people for staying away, i myself didn't know what to expect.
This show was decent but nothing more, I'd such high hopes for some wacky Trigger Happy stunts like a guy in the audience with a big phone or a fake security guard on the door but the nearest we got was a polar bear making a brief appearance on stage and even that wasn’t as good as it sounds.

Dom joly has thrown this show together and quite frankly it shows, disappointing all round and value for money it ain't. It hasn’t put me off though, jolys next adventure will be a Hollywood film and I for one can’t wait.
