Joe Fairbrother - Characters @ Just the Tonic - Caves

Joe Fairbrother - Characters

What a lovely little show from character comedian Joe Fairbrother. You
join him at the local village hall where he welcomes you "the locals"
like he really does know you asking after family and Friends etc. Joe plays a
range of characters from a health and safety officer to a female B&B owner.
The characters all follow the same format some perhaps maybe
better than others but in general all very good. I'd really like to
see Joe take more risks, some of the characters are very lovable and
I could see them getting away with allot more, you only need to look at
the likes of little Britain to see what can be done.
I liked the radio segments in between character's and especially the
local disco stuff but I do feel the writing needs work. In general we
need more laughs, more punchlines at the end of each character and
just a bit more risk.
This is however a bloody good show performed by a bloody good
character comic. I've no doubt he will go from strength to strength and I already look forward to his 2012 offering.

The Ginge, The Geordie and The Geek - Best Of 09/10

The Ginge, The Geordie and The Geek

This is the best of show from 09/10 so if you had the pleasure of
seeing them in previous years you'll no doubt want to come back and
relive happy memories. If however you're new to the G,G,G experience
then my god you're in for a treat.

The show starts and to be honest the first 3 sketches are maybe a little lame but the lads soon get things going at an unbelievable pace.

It's well written and well acted out, simple jokes but so affective,
comedy is all about making you laugh and this show does that throughout.
With so many sketches you soon forget some of the great characters
but a wonderful montage at the end soon has you reminiscing.

I loved the show so much that with the sounds of 80's power ballads
still ringing in my ears I found myself back at the box office working
out my next visit. Seriously I'd recommend this show to everyone.
The Ginge, The Geordie and The Geek are unmissable.

The Ginge, The Geordie and the Geek
  New Show
Very good show once again from the three G’s but after watching the best of I do think this new show was maybe a little over shadowed. You get everything you’d expect from the boys but I just think previous years had more big laughs. It’s good to see more technology in the show as I really believe they need to do more in the way of presentation, don’t get me wrong I love the simple style they have adopted but let’s face it a bit more will only add to the pleasure. The main problem for me is that one of the main sketches isn't’t that funny, not for the amount of time it’s given anyway. Go see the boys @ just the tonic at the caves, you won’t regret it.

Ray Time in the Day Time – Gilded Balloon @ 2.30pm

Ray Time in the Day Time

Shambolic wannabe TV host Ray Green is back in Edinburgh and this time he’s looking for a TV deal but not everything goes to plan.

You join Ray for a live stream of his show Ray Time in the Daytime, What could possibly go wrong? In a word, everything

It’s a very amusing show that has a smile on your face from the minute Ray walks on the stage, funny throughout with some great video work that shows Dave Gibson as more than just a great character comedian.

The show needs edited in parts, for example the green room video sequences drag on for a bit too long, With a bit more quality material this really has the making of something special.

This show has a bit of everything, something for everyone no matter what your comedy preference. It’s a great fun show that’s well worth a viewing.
